Our budgets

The Policy and Budget Framework sets out our priorities and financial plans for the future, and focuses on the revenue budget for coming year. It also indicates the possible financial position for the next two years - as well as potential capital spending plans for the next three years (subject to the necessary capital funding being available).

Given the deficit in public finances, there will be difficult times ahead with regard to reducing government grants, which could be as much as 35% - 40% over the next four years.

This will result in continuing pressures to find further savings, efficiency and additional income. We will continue to work closely with partners to develop a joint approach to service delivery, and reducing costs.

We are committed to providing you with services that offer the best value of money. We will continue to do all we can to keep rises in Council Tax as low as possible, whilst still delivering and improving our services.
