What is a temporary event notice?
A temporary event notice (TEN) lets you stage an event for activities that would otherwise need a premises licence, on unlicensed premises. Premises licence holders can also apply for a TEN to temporarily operate outside the conditions of their licence.
These licensable activities are:
- the sale and supply of alcohol
- the provision of late night refreshment (hot food and drinks, between 11pm – 5am)
- regulated entertainment (for example, live or recorded music, films, indoor sporting events)
TENs are valid for events that last for no more than seven consecutive days and will have 499 people or less in attendance (including staff).
