The Mid Suffolk Plan

In January 2024, The Mid Suffolk Plan was agreed at Full Council. The Plan sets out the priorities that we will deliver from 2023 to 2027:

Customers

Our refreshed Customer Service Strategy sets out our priorities in ensuring that our customers are at the heart of everything we do.

Housing

Our Joint Housing and Homes Strategy sets out our ongoing commitment to meeting and addressing housing challenges across the districts.

Homelessness reduction and rough sleeping

Our Joint Homelessness Reduction and Rough Sleeping Strategy sets out our vision to end rough sleeping within our districts.

Tenant engagement

Our Tenant Engagement Strategy sets out how we will engage with, and empower, residents via our housing function as their landlord - and defines tenant engagement principles and roles.

Communities

Our Communities Strategy establishes how we can deliver a coordinated and consistent approach to our leadership - and make use of all resources available - so that those who live and work within the districts feel valued, understood and connected within their community.

Wellbeing

Our Wellbeing Strategy sets out how we will:

  • enable families to lead active, healthy, safe, independent lives - and manage their own health and wellbeing
  • create sustainable places and spaces which maximise health and wellbeing opportunities
  • reduce health inequalities

Leisure, sport and physical activity

Our Leisure, Sport and Physical Activity Strategy sets out how we will support the delivery of sport and physical activity services.

Environment

Carbon reduction management

Our Carbon Management Reduction Plan sets out the work of our Environment and Climate Change Taskforce, and our commitments to investigating the ways we can reduce our own emissions - and supporting Suffolk's aim to become carbon neutral by 2030.

Biodiversity action

Our Biodiversity Action Plan sets out how we aim to protect and strengthen plant life and local wildlife in the districts.

Our Parking Strategy outlines both on-street and off-street parking provision for the next 20 years.

Economy

Our Economic Recovery Plan outlines our commitment to building upon the strengths of our people and partnerships, and around our vibrant, beautiful places - which together, create a strong economy with a bright future for all.

Culture, heritage and visitor economy

Our Culture, Heritage and Visitor Economy Strategy sets out how we will work with stakeholders to create distinctive, welcoming, and vital cultural places and experiences which energise our communities, enterprises and visitors.

Our evidence base

Our annual State of the District reports tell the story of our district through data and insight. They provide commentary on the strengths and challenges within Mid Suffolk - and how these are changing over time.

This, alongside data and evidence that we have from across our organisation, shows us which challenges we need to respond to.
