Suffolk’s Armed Forces Day 2026

Stowmarket will host Suffolk’s 2026 Armed Forces Day celebrations at the Recreation Ground on 11am-13pm Saturday 27 June, with military fanfare and a full day of family fun to recognise and celebrate the contribution of the armed forces community.

The free event, organised by Mid Suffolk District Council in partnership with Stowmarket Town Council brings together service personnel, veterans, families and the wider community for a day of both fun and reflection. At 12.45pm there will be a salute and flyover to commemorate the role played by our service personnel and military community past and present.

King’s Field Recreation Ground

Come along and enjoy live music from a The Honington Band (a 30-piece brass band), Honington Military Wives and The Vibettes – a 40s style swing duo.

Bring the family for a range of free games and activities including a climbing wall, caving experience, bottle-rocket challenge, soft-play, bouncy castles and sports games. There are will also be a free range of interactive stalls including armed forces and cadets, historical military vehicles and emergency services.

Paid attractions include bar, local food stalls and children’s face-painting.

Parking is available nearby at Iliffe Way and the Meadow Centre.
