Renovation Grant and Loan
If you own your home or rent and have responsibility for repair, you may apply for a grant and loan to:
- carry out improvements or repairs to meet the Decent Homes Standard,
- remove category one hazards as identified under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System
These may include:
- damp proofing
- provision of sanitary facilities
- provision of an adequate water supply
- re-roofing
- repairs/replacement of windows and doors
- repairs to structure
The maximum amount available is £20,000. This is made up of a grant of up to £5,000 and an interest free loan of up to £15,000.
Owners of park homes will only be eligible for up to a £5,000 grant.
The £5,000 grant is not repayable. The loan is repayable upon sale or transfer of the property. Local land charges will be applied.
The property requiring the renovation grant and loan must be in Council Tax Band A - E.
