Pre-application documents
All pre-application enquiries must include:
- Your name and contact details - including your email address if you have one
- The full postal address of the site you would like advice for
- A full description of the proposed development
- The service you need; written response, virtual meeting, or appointment onsite
- Which, if any, consultee services you need (please see Pre-Application Consultee Advice for details about which services you might need)
- Which, if any, add-on activities you need
- A site location plan with the site outlined in red
This information will be requested on your pre-application form.
You should also include:
- A sketch plan or draft plans of the proposed development
- Photographs of the site showing the area of the proposal
- A layout plan
- Any accompanying reports
Heritage pre-application enquiries
Documents required for Heritage pre-application advice:
- A Site plan with the site outlined in red
- Existing and Proposed Elevations Drawings and/or Floor Plans (as relevant)
- Photographs of the site, if possible, indicating the area of the proposal
- A Block Plan (as relevant)
- Any Accompanying Reports (Historic Building Assessments, Structural Report etc.)
Please provide as much information as possible. This will help the officer assess the details of your proposal and allow us to provide more detailed advice for you.
For proposals to extend or alter a house, sketch drawings and photographs will usually be enough. They should be clear on exactly what you are proposing. For example: a two storey side extension on the western side of the property.
All information submitted needs to be accurate, complete, and clear. The quality of the advice we can give depends on the quality of the information you submit.
Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) related Enquiries
If you are requesting CIL advice, please ensure you submit all floor plans of the proposed and existing buildings onsite for a CIL estimate. These must be accurately scaled.
