How we benchmark our performance

We want to make sure that we are providing our tenants with the very best service.

Benchmarking is the process of comparing our performance against industry best practices. This helps us to identify areas for improvement, with the aim of achieving better results.

We use a company called Housemark to benchmark our performance and costs.

Housemark is the leading data, insight and consultancy provider for the UK housing sector, with a focus on improving performance and tenant experience. They work with over 350 social landlords.

Annual benchmarking reports

Each year, we provide Housemark with data on our performance and costs. They then compare our performance and costs against similar landlords, and provide us with a report on our performance.

How we use this information to set targets

Every year, we meet with our Portfolio Holders, and our Tenant Board, to review our performance. These Housemark reports help us to see where we are performing well, and where we could do better.

We aim for median performance where we are below median average, or the quartile above our current performance where we are already achieving the median or above.
