Have your say on our polling arrangements

Councils are asking residents for feedback on polling districts and places across the county

Councils are asking for feedback from residents on polling stations and polling districts to ensure they remain suitable for voters.

We have a duty to divide their areas into polling districts and designate a polling station for each one, with these arrangements reviewed at least once every five years. This helps ensure polling stations continue to meet the needs of voters and are as accessible as possible.

People are invited to give their views during the latest ‘Polling Districts, Polling Places and Polling Stations’ consultation, which closes on Thursday 30 November 2023.

Arthur Charvonia, Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils Chief Executive and Returning Officer, said:

It’s important for democracy that polling stations meet the needs of all voters, who chose to vote in person. If residents have any views, or have experienced anything which they think could be improved, I urge them to let us know.

We will also consult with town, parish, district and county councillors, MPs, and political parties that are active in either district.

Comments and representations can be submitted by no later than Thursday 30 November 2023:
