Equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI)
We are committed to being a good landlord, with our services being easy to access for all our tenants.
We follow all the legal and regulatory requirements set by:
- Equality Act 2010
- Human Rights Act 1998
- Regulatory Framework for Social Housing in England
- Care Quality Commission
We aim to be a landlord that improves equality and diversity outcomes for all our residents. We actively promote community cohesion and social, digital and financial inclusion. We have effective arrangements in place to monitor equality and diversity. This includes all staff undergoing equality and diversity training, diversity champions within our workforce and carrying out equality impact assessments on our policies and procedures before they are introduced.
Knowing our tenants - why it's important
As a landlord, we must demonstrate to the Regulator of Social Housing that we deliver fair and equitable outcomes for tenants and, where relevant, prospective tenants. To do this, we must use information and data to:
- understand the diverse needs of tenants, including those arising from protected characteristics, language barriers, and additional support needs; and
- assess whether their housing and landlord services deliver fair and equitable outcomes for tenants.
We must ensure that our communication and information to tenants is clear, accessible, relevant, timely and appropriate to the diverse needs of tenants.
You may find when we contact you, that we ask you to confirm some details about yourself so that we can ensure we are meeting the above. You can refuse to give us this information if this is your wish.
